There are a number of online sites where you can publish your course.
The second largest search engine in the world is also a great and free platform for teaching. Yes, I’m talking about YouTube. You can place ads and earn money that way. You can’t sell your videos on YouTube, though. But it’s fast and easy for creating. And it’s a great way to get known as an expert. Once you have a course set up in another platform, you can set up a link in your YouTube videos that links to your paid courses.
Using YouTube is also a great way to get used to teaching on video. Many people are uncomfortable being on video. Don’t! We all start somewhere. Don’t let your fear hold you back.
Most YouTube videos are 10-20 minutes long. It’s best to choose one topic. And you can create a series of videos that are connected to teach one subject. It’s free to sign up for YouTube to be a content creator.
An advanced technique is to create branded thumbnails to let people know in an instant what you’re teaching and who you are. The best resource is Brian G Johnson’s YouTube channel. He has everything you need to know – from equipment to how to upload your videos with the best settings for your situation. And it’s free.
Udemy has a great platform for content creators. You can add in videos you’ve created on your computer. And you can create written content that explains an item or shows examples. And you get to add in exercises for your students.
Most Udemy classes have longer durations. For example, your class could be four hours. That would include the estimated time to read your content and do your exercises. It’s free to sign up with Udemy to become a teacher.
